I think there is something that we both have in common today, we are both tired! I am glad you were able to do the climb. It looks like you had a blast too! Double win!
I only did core and spin today so nothing really to report. My workout was VERY meh today. I litterally took my sweet time with everything and tool some huge breaks, for core out of all things too. Core muscles are designed to not have to break as often and they do not need nearly as much recovery time either.
The only noteworthy thing I did today was move my core press to 45# and hold for 10secs for 5 times each.
Muscle of the Day
Tranversus Abdominis
Origin: Lumbar Facia, Lower 6 ribs (cartilage I think) and Illiac Crest
Insertion: Pubis
Functions: STABILIZATION OF CORE
Other Facts: Ok, this muscle is very confusing. Based on its positioning, it is very hard to tell what it actually does. Looking at it from the front, you realize that the fibers show that it cannot flex nor extend the spine because the fibers run horizontally. From the side, the fibers still are in a funny position where they cannot really help with sidebending either. These fibers run along the Transverse Axis, hence the name haha, and so when they contract, it forms a "belt" around the lumbar spine, helping it stabilize and keeping it safe. This is confusing so let me know if you don't understand.
I will be done around 7pm tomorrow so if you want, I can help you study. If not, good luck on your exam :)
